Dear Colleagues,

As I look ahead to the coming year, I am excited about the opportunity to build on the tremendous work of the leaders who have guided AAARAD over the years. Their vision, commitment, and willingness to invest in this organization have created the strong foundation and vibrant community we have today. I am grateful for their leadership and for all of the members who have contributed their time, ideas, and energy to making AAARAD what it is today.

My desire is to continue that upward trajectory, enhancing the value of AAARAD membership while strengthening mentorship and engagement across our organization.

I want AAARAD to be the professional community that radiology administrators turn to first. When you encounter a difficult challenge, have a question, or are considering a new idea, I want your first thought to be: “I should ask my AAARAD colleagues.” Our greatest resource is the collective experience, knowledge, and perspective of our members.

We have an extraordinary group of leaders facing many of the same challenges from different perspectives. I would like to create even more opportunities for us to learn from one another by sharing both our successes and our failures. Knowing what worked is valuable; knowing what did not work—and why—can be just as valuable. The willingness to share those experiences openly is one of the things that can make AAARAD truly different from any other professional organization.

I also want to continue building a vibrant and highly engaged community where members know one another, participate actively, celebrate each other’s accomplishments, and are willing to help one another. I want our members to feel that AAARAD is not simply an organization they belong to, but a community they are genuinely part of.

A key part of this vision is developing the next generation of radiology administrators and leaders. We now have an exciting new opportunity to do this through AAARAD Associate Membership. While our primary members remain the chief administrators at our institutions, we encourage every institution to bring emerging leaders into AAARAD as Associate Members. This gives the next generation an opportunity to become engaged earlier in their careers, learn from experienced leaders across the country, and develop relationships that can support them throughout their careers.

At the same time, we have an incredible depth of experience within AAARAD that we should continue to share. Strengthening mentorship between experienced administrators and emerging leaders will allow us to pass along not only knowledge and expertise, but also the perspective and lessons that can only come from experience. In doing so, we can help prepare the next generation to lead both our institutions and our profession.

My vision for AAARAD is a community where members learn from one another, celebrate one another, support one another, and invest in the leaders who will follow us. If we can continue to increase the value our members receive from AAARAD while creating stronger connections and meaningful mentorship opportunities, we will build on the remarkable legacy of those who came before us and leave an even stronger organization for those who come next.
