The Department of Radiology at the University of Washington is an academic department that is internationally recognized as dynamic and progressive, with high impact on the present and future of the field of Diagnostic Medical Imaging. As a “Top Ten” Radiology Department in a US News and World Report “Top Ten” Hospital, the academic Radiology enterprise complements the professional and research activities of one of the nation’s leading Medical Schools. The Department of Radiology serves patients at the University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, the VA Medical Center in Seattle, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and many affiliated facilities throughout the Pacific Northwest. With a world-class faculty of subspecialist physicians and scientists, the department is a leader in radiological education and research. The department is comprised of 120 faculty and physician members, 48 residents-in-training & 25 ACGME fellows and 25 clinical fellows.
The department offers a top-ranked radiology residency program, post-residency fellowship training in eight disciplines, graduate and post-graduate basic science programs, medical student education, allied health professional training, and continuing medical education for practicing physicians.
The Department of Radiology currently has an outstanding opportunity for a DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION.
As a UW SOM Department Director, the incumbent carries out duties prescribed by the directing, overseeing, or partnering institutions and organizations. The critical knowledge and skills are organized into the areas of: Human Resource Management, Financial Management and Development Activities, Operations Management, Practice Plan Management, Information Management, Research Management, Compliance and Risk Management, Facilities Management and Educational Program(s) Management. He/she acts in an advisory capacity to the Chair and various Department committees, providing financial guidance, background information, and management advice. In addition, the Director is the Department’s primary working-level interface with the Dean’s Office, the Practice Plans, and other departments in the University regarding administrative issues. With the dual role of management for both Departments, the Director will be responsible for creating administrative structures that support the Department.
