The Administrator is responsible for the leadership and management of a large, high volume and complex imaging division with sites of service located within the inpatient, outpatient and emergency department settings; and is responsible for managing all academic administrative affairs of the department within the College of Medicine (Medical College of Georgia). More specifically, these accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsibility for financial oversight of all operating budgets, capital budgets, grants and contract activity
- Management of the Radiology physician practice plan
- Facilities management
- Human resources management and staff development
- New program development
- Fundraising activities
- Public relations
Timely and accurate communication of departmental/unit status to institutional leadership, departmental leadership and staff members is critical. Assures that business continuity, information technology and succession plans are in place and adequate to maintain operations for safe and appropriate patient care and academic objectives.
Demonstrated ability to assess the business and health care environments and to use that information to develop and implement a strategic plan for the effective future positioning of clinical services. This must include the ability to implement any changes intelligently and with a sense of appropriate urgency. Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare trends in general and how they relate to imaging, in particular is highly desired. Strong commitment to the academic components of the mission, with an understanding of the elements necessary to build and finance strong, respected teaching and research programming.
Exceptionally strong financial analysis skills are required to assess, implement and measure new programs for success. Financial modeling, monitoring, reporting and business plan development skills are required and essential. Consistently provides effective leadership to the department, assuming responsibility and accountability for decisions made, resolving issues through collaboration, as appropriate and sound decision making, and ensuring timely action and follow through on all projects and initiatives. Other duties as assigned.
A Master’s degree with broad knowledge and thorough understanding of the financial management of both medical center and group practice activities. Demonstrated ability to consistently execute strategy and effectively manage provider practice, hospital operations, personnel, quality improvement, accreditation, technology assessment and strategic planning. A track record of success in the selection, motivation, development, evaluation, recognition, and retention of competent and caring personnel. A champion of diversity, who can work effectively in an environment where different beliefs and ideas are appreciated, and proactively seeks leaders who represent a diverse community. Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Certification in imaging (ARRT, ARDMS, or CNMB). Demonstrated experience with the theory and practice of imaging. Working knowledge of imaging CPT coding.
